گوشی Honor 8A یک گوشی هوشمند با طراحی بسیار جذاب و مدرن است که شاید یکی از بهترین گوشی های هوشمند در این رده نیز باشد. طراحی ناچ در بالای صفحه نمایش که فقط دوربین جلو در آن قسمت در نظر گرفته شده، از ویژگی هایی است که میتواند به این گوشی یک امتیاز مثبت در بخش طراحی اضافه کند. صفحه نمایش 6.01 اینچی این گوشی دارای رزولوشن 720×1560 است که به استاندارد 19.5:9 رسیده است. این استاندارد و حاشیه های کم صفحه نمایش (نسبت صفحه نمایش به بدنه 78.8 درصدی) همه و همه نشان از یک طراحی بسیار مدرن برای این گوشی با این رده قیمت دارد. جنس بدنه این گوشی از پلاستیک بوده که کاملا کیفیت خوبی دارد و وزن آن 150 گرم می باشد. در قسمت بالای گوشی، درگاه جک 3.5 میلی‌متری تعبیه‌شده و نام برند آنر نیز در قسمت پایین صفحه‌نمایش به بزرگی دیده می‌شود.

8A از یک صفحه‌نمایش 6 اینچی IPS LCD بهره می برد که کیفیت مطلوبی دارد رزولوشن 720 × 1560 پیکسل برای یک گوشی میان رده خوب محصوب می شود این میزان، در گوشی‌های هم رده به‌ندرت بچشم می خورد آنر ادعا کرده برای این مدل از فناوری TUV استفاده کرده است. در این فناوری برای راحتی چشم از نورهای آبی کمتری استفاده‌شده است. روشنایی صفحه‌نمایش 8A برای گوشی در این دسته میزان قابل قبولی است و نباید آن را با گوشی‌های پرچم‌دار مقایسه کنید اما به لطف فناوری IPS زاویه دید استاندارد و مناسبی دارد.

Honor برای این گوشی تنها یک دوربین اصلی با رزولوشن 13 و یک دوربین سلفی با رزولوشن 8 مگاپیکسل تعبیه کرده است. دوربین اصلی با استفاده از دریچه دیافراگم f/1.8، عکاسی در فضاهایی کم نور را آسان‌تر کرده است. در حالت کلی این گوشی دوربین قابل قبولی دارد ولی از نظر گستره داینامیکی پتانسیل بهتر شدن را دارند به‌خصوص در دوربین سلفی به دلیل نداشتن استاندارد HDR، در محیط‌های کم‌نور این مشکل بیشتر احساس می‌شود.
